The Last Bastion for Free Thought
There is a great tug of war going on in society. The polarizing effects of our banking institutions has brought it to the fore front. Todays global economy can effect everything. Not only our banking systems, but our very way of life.
Entrepreneurialism is founded on the premise of free thinking individuals. Merit, success, hard work and individual prosperity is rewarded to those who maintain focus and discipline creating a venture that benefits all and the belief in unlimited wealth. That is the essence of Capitalism. Capitalism allows free enterprise to take place and businesses to flourish. It's value is simply based on one thing, the free voluntary judgment of the consumer. Capitalism offers the freedom of choice.
There has been a slow erosion of Capitalism, a shift towards a more all inclusive system that "shares the wealth". The premise is based on the fact that there is a limited amount of wealth to be shared in the world. It must be equally divided thus the work be equally divided. There is no penalty for not meeting the minimum requirement and no reward for individual merit. The mere idea of "shared wealth" minimizes the reward to the hard worker and encourages a dulling of creativity. Now, if you were offered a job that told you no matter what you do, you get paid. You don't get paid more or less than anyone else. There is no additional pay for overtime, but you receive your benefits like everyone else. Sounds secure doesn't it, sounds like an easy way to earn a paycheck. Sounds like Socialism.
Socialism is a utopian ideal that kills free enterprise. It stifles creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit. In Americas's Silicon Valley there were no new IPO's for the second quarter in what was once America's second industrial revolution. There was only One new IPO in the third quarter. Clearly there is a slow down in the economic growth to put it mildly. Complicated tax codes and bureaucratic penalties for doing business in the United States has forced many Industries to outsource or outright leave for kinder shores.
The Internet is the last bastion for the free thinker, the maverick, the maker of dreams that is the Entrepreneur. It is untouched by the bureaucracies of our governments. It offers unlimited wealth for those who are disciplined and work to create innovative opportunities. It reaches every country, every shore, every nook and cranny where the free thinker may exist. Every day, a new dreamer is born ready to live the dream that we here in America created in 1776. The world is a much smaller place with the innovation of the Internet; we don't know where the next Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison or Bill Gates will crop up. But as long as the Internet remains the realm of the Entrepreneur, they will be found, cultivated and grown. Capitalism is the hope and dream of many around the world searching for freedom. Wealth and prosperity for the individual IS possible as long as we keep this beacon of light burning strong.

Have You Ever Seen the Face of God?
I have. I am one of the lucky few. He did not show himself to me in an image of Fire or an image of a Mighty Man. He showed himself as the lamb. In the image of a man in a wheel chair. A man in a wheel chair with cerebral palsy. A man left abandoned hoping that a stranger would offer him help.
His will was strong, you could sense the fire within his soul, you could sense his mighty power, it was only his body that had betrayed him. He asked each person as they walked by for assistance and aid, all ignored him, shunned him, and looked the other way. He did not waiver. He remained steadfast.
Finally, a blessed woman stopped to listen although her friend tried unsuccessfully to have her move on. Her dark skin glowed around her face as if she wore a halo. She was to be his guardian angel. He told her of his plight. He had been dropped off by an assistance vehicle service in the wrong area. The driver did not pay attention to the address and simply left him. He was lost and alone. This angel of a woman, armed with her cell phone took action. He provided the number to the service and his id code and she listened, called and demanded they return immediately and drive him to his correct destination.
She stayed with him until he was safely on his way.
She had been tested and deemed worthy.
The scene played out before me. As I sat there, I became filled with a sense of overwhelming peace. I said to myself "so shines a good deed in a weary world". I walked passed the woman and told her "God bless you Angel". I have been changed ever since. There is a sweet smell in the air, the sky is bluer, the clouds are puffier and whiter, the sun shines brighter.
See, I was meant to witness this act. I was outside in that spot for 15 minutes only never to return there for the rest of the day. A portal, a window in time. I know now that our humanity is not lost, that it does still exist.
Why do I share this story?
For I vow, if you reach out, I will be there.
If you fall, I will catch you.
You have a choice who you do business with, how you conduct yourself, who you work with, who you spend your time with.
If you choose me, I will care, make you proud, help you succeed and grow.
That is my shinning good deed in a weary world and my promise to you.

Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!
Are you an Entrepreneur or a Bureaucrat?
I have been talking to lots of people lately. There are those that see a great future and the current financial mess as a temporary anomaly that we will get through just fine. In other words what doesn't kill you will make you stronger.
Then there are those on the other side of the line who are convinced the USA is coming to an end and there is no use in trying anymore and are ready to just give it all up.
What say you? What side of this equation are you on? I know where I stand. Let me explain.
Basically I thrive in these situations. The greater the challenge the more determined I get. If you have a minute I will tell one of my stories and I have many stories especially stories of struggle. I have struggled my entire life. You see, when I was in my 20s I lived in Santa Cruz, one of the best places on earth for surfing. I started surfing when I was very young. But I wanted to surf GIANT waves. Not an easy feat to accomplish.
The first thing I realized is I had to dedicate myself to achieve this. I also realized it was going to take years to accomplish. It is not something you just go push a button and you are surfing big waves. So, every time there were any waves I stopped everything else I was doing and grabbed my board and surfed. I would go without eating to surf. I turned down jobs to surf. I figured out ways to make money unconventionally to surf. And surf I did. I got thick muscles from constantly challenging myself to paddle out in bigger and bigger waves. I would stay at all day even after I was sure I had no more energy to paddle out but pushed myself. I know what spaghetti arms mean. I know how it feels to be held down under a huge wave so long you would have to stuff the panic of drowning deep into your mind and just hold on until you could finally get a breath.
I would get out to those huge swells finally after years of practice and then I had to face my fear of actually paddling into a wave with a 20-foot face. The fear was incredible and at first it would triumph over my desire to take off and I would hesitate. I had to compete fiercely against other more accomplished surfers who would intimidate you, as they would take off effortlessly on those huge waves.
I remember the first day at a surf spot called 4 mile. I paddled into a 20+ foot wave, snapped up and stood precariously at the top of the wave. My friends below in the water cheered, "Drop in Prendergast! You can do it!" They were all excited to see me finally doing it! And I did drop in and slid down that 20+ feet of vertical water made the graceful bottom turn and trimmed back up into the face of this giant wave. Time stood still and I could feel the breath of God breathing on me at that moment and I rode that wave with grace and ease and as I kicked out to paddle out for the next one I was filled with joy and rapture. My friends were so impressed that I had joined their ranks as a big wave surfer. I now had their respect as well as my own. From that day on for many years I continued to surf. Surfing was my church as I would feel very close to God as I rode one of His greatest creations.
But I learned something from surfing big waves that stays with me to this day. The greatest lesson of life. That great things take great struggle to achieve. This applies to everything I do in life. This especially applies to Veretekk™ one of the greatest struggles and achievements of my life. You see Veretekk™ is one of those BIG waves. And we, like my surfing buddies before me, want to see you ride it and achieve greatness. But you need to have dedication and determination. The Internet offers that last great hope of your own sovereignty.
So we are facing a great financial challenge today, we have had challenges of some sort all of our lives. It is what makes us stronger. Challenges come and challenges go. Something is happening here and it could be the greatest opportunity of your life. What side of the line are you on? Are you going to refuse to give up and double up on your determination? Are you going to be a true entrepreneur and refuse to give up ever? Or are you going to quit, accept mediocrity and become a bureaucrat? The choice is yours.
I know where I stand. I will never give up, ever!

Ethics for a Real Change!
Special Guest running for the US Congress
We have a special guest this Monday. He is the opposition candidate running against Susan Davis in my district. That being the 53rd seat in the US Congress. His name is Michael Crimmins and he is our new friend.
After I watched the incredible good old boy insider vote for the $850 billion Bail Out bill filled with over $150 billion in pork pass into law I got upset. I know the majority of Americans buried their house representatives with calls, faxes and emails telling their reps to NOT PASS the BAIL OUT bill.
All the US Reps in San Diego both Democrat and Republican with the exception of Susan Davis voted against it BOTH times. Not Susan. I find this behavior arrogant. I say to you that this vote was the great American acid test. If you are an American voter you owe it to yourself to find out how your rep voted. If they voted for it, vote them out. Support the candidate running against them.
I didn't just sit on my laurels either. Since both candidates Obama and McCain voted for the Bail Out I can not support either one of them either. I will be voting for Bob Barr. http://www.bobbarr2008.com. I am convinced we the people need to clean the house out. The following is the banner of my campaign.
I looked for the opposition candidate against Susan Davis and found Michael Crimmins. He is approachable and understands the mechanics of the Constitution and that the House holds the purse strings and creates the law. It is time we took the house back. Michael Crimmins understands the entrepreneur and that is exactly what he wants to do.

The Forgotten Man
The Forgotten Man was the man borne out of the Great Depression. He came to symbolize all that America was and could be. He was the average Joe, the hard workingmen and women that would as they always do answer the call to raise the country up. Each citizen has within them the power and the ability to move a nation to action.
In the 30's FDR attempted to stimulate the economy and create jobs by developing our municipalities. Many of our roads, highways and bridges the infrastructure of a nation was built. Baby boomers watched their father's toil many hours of hard labor in order to feed their families. It was good work, honest work yet hard work. Their children watched their weary fathers come home day after day and yearned for a better life.
Many of the baby boomer generation that I have met are self-made men. They had the desire to fulfill the American Dream. To live in freedom, the capacity to exercise choice and free will instead of work to earn an income for someone else. To exact their liberty, choosing to use their rights to act and dictate their lives be lived in a manner of their own choosing. They risked the safety and security of working long laborious hours for someone else in order for them to be successful. They rejected the enslavement of business owners determining how much they earned and how their time would be spent in order to achieve someone else's dream. They refused to be subject to the influences of the day stifling their entrepreneurial spirit.
I'd like to share one story of The Forgotten Man and the power of the entrepreneurial spirit. One self made man whose story encompasses so many. A young man full of hope for a better life than his father who drove a delivery truck for the newspaper company. A union man, up well before the sun rose and home asleep exhausted well before the young man was. There was very little time to share with each other. But the boy was fed, had a home and ran the streets with his friends getting into trouble as many did in those days. It was a hard world; a tough world and it left an impression on the young man. His family, too poor to send him to college, he was destined to live out the same fate as his father. Then World War II struck and he enlisted in the Navy. On leave he met the woman who would be his future wife. He had hopes; he had dreams, to provide a better way of life for those he would be destined to be responsible for.
This Forgotten Man returned from the war and ran into one of his old buddies who got him a job at a sales company as a warehouse man. It was hard work, labor intensive and dirty. But he was smart as a whip and began to study. This was a sales company and he intended to rise up through the ranks. He stayed late and cleaned the warehouse and got to speak with the owner. Learning all he could. He worked his way into the office side and earned the opportunity to go on the road representing his company as part of the sales force. He married and in two short years had a child with another on the way. He worked feverishly, gone many days on the road in order to provide for his new family.
By the early sixties he owned his own home, a wife, three children and a meager existence. He realized his own children were growing up without him. Beginning to understand fully his own father's plight he continued to work up through the ranks trying to earn a coveted spot in the more prosperous territories. He succeeded through his wit and tenacity and was awarded the right to set up a home office and base himself from home. So days he was not on the road or in a sales meeting he was able to share time with his family. Life was getting better, but he remained disciplined and focused. He wanted more.
In the early 70's his boss and mentor was looking to retire and sell his business. This was our man's chance. He gathered his friend and together they eked out some capitol and bought the business. He now owned controlling interest in his own company and a new entrepreneur was born. He now had a wife and three children a simple home with no furniture in his home other than the essentials, no fancy car or great riches, he went without those luxuries but it was all well worth it to him. The man who cleaned the warehouse now owned that very company and his future. He built his business on honesty and ethics and sound advice putting himself on the map and the road to success. Our man did well in the end and lived a good life. Fulfilling his promise to himself and his family, giving his children a better life than he had with all the advantages that he never had.
In the 90's this Forgotten Man sold his business and retired and is now living a simple life in warmer climates. Much that we all wish for today. Unfortunately that story has become increasingly more difficult to achieve these days. Small businesses take the brunt of many of our country's regulatory actions. Excessive and complicated tax codes, insurance, overhead, land to build and lack of opportunity stunt the entrepreneurial spirit. The ability to work from home and control your life, the American promise of freedom, justice and liberty for all seems lost compared to the era I just shared. But it is not, for those that believe, the Internet offers that opportunity. You can develop a real business online, you just need to find that business that will grow over time and build on it.
As our story shows, this man spent decades building a business in order to prosper and fulfill his dreams. That applies today as much as it did then. The premise that there is a get rich quick formula is bogus and preys on your hopes and dreams. But there are mentors out there like our forgotten man's mentor, willing to take a chance on you and help you succeed, you just need to find them. The truth of the matter is, no where but on the Internet can you find a business that you can build, without requiring much capital like our forgotten man needed, no over head, no staff, and your business can be built by comparison in the fraction of the time. It is possible if you are a true entrepreneur, take the risk, stay focused and believe in yourself enough to stick with the decision you have made. Grow your business and it will grow you.
I believe in the entrepreneurial spirit and the success story of this forgotten man. I know him well. This scrappy maverick was my Father, my hero and champion. He bestowed upon me all his wisdom, his savvy, his knowledge. I am here on the Internet growing a successful business and following in his footsteps. Breaking ground with like-minded individuals in an effort to help others succeed. I ask you to join my fellow entrepreneurs and me in Veretekk™ and learn how you can grow a true home business. To no longer be the forgotten man, but the success story and pass on your knowledge to others. I am living proof that it can be done and I believe in you and that you can have the freedom to control your own destiny and fulfill the legacy of the American dream.

You know I LOVE twitter, but over the last couple of weeks I have seen a sense of panic, mostly because I have been focusing on a target market that isn't currently a small business owner. There is so much education to be done for some of these poor souls or at least they think they are poor because the media tells them how bad it is.
I've got "NEWS" for you just because the media paints a doom and gloom picture it doesn't have to be like that. Let's face it. Doom and gloom sells. Look at 911 how many people (including me) were glued to the TV watching and listening. Remember the year 2000 scare when all electronic data was going to be wiped out? Did it happen? NO... Did some people take advantage of it a make a boat load? YES
It amazes me these predictors are not held accountable for their stupidity when the bad things DON’T come to pass. Sadly, I’ve found that some of the greatest tragedies I’ve seen in my life, like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and earth quakes, tsunamis, and other disasters were not predicted or prevented in any real way at all.
Any thinking person understands depressions, natural disasters, war, and more... does happen and that is unfortunately a part of life as we know it. But the media doesn't’t want you to ‘think’… they want you to be afraid and dependent and turn to them for ‘comfort’ day in and day out (bad, bad idea… they never report ‘good news’). To my knowledge, worrying about such events has not prevented any of them!
Action and imagination solve problems a whole lot better than ‘worrying’.
After all…
Napoleon Hill didn’t write, "Worry and Grow Rich", did he?
However, the doomsayers predict doom almost every day it and the media seems eerily cheerful in reporting on anything negative that happens around the world in real time, 24 hours a day year round. What is missing is perspective.
Miracles, recovery, healing, new discoveries, massive profits, enlightenment, giving, growth, birth, beauty and joy are ALSO happening every day around the world.
But you’d never know about it if you rely on the NEWS media for your view of reality.
If you want to profit from these times, let McCain, Obama, the stock market, real estate woes and the nattering ninnies in Congress shuffle papers around to their hearts content. And ignore them. If you have real estate problems or stock troubles, educate yourself on how to best deal with those issues. Tell yourself over and over.. "If it is to be it's up to me" Don't rely on anyone to bail you out!
Don’t envy or resent the ‘rich’, join them! The Money is still right under our noses. In fact this "recession" will produce more billionaires than ever before. (Some people are THRILLED to see it coming) Stocks and Real Estate will be bought at rock bottom prices. (Only to be sold for massive profits in a few short years) Advertising for your business will be much cheaper, because there won't be the competition from the nervous nellies.

I first joined Veretekk™ in 1998 or 1999. I don’t remember how long it took but it was a relatively short period of time I had developed enough of a database to start a small communication business. That business still provides a monthly income. Since then I have been in and out of Veretekk™. I would have been better off to stay steady on course and not be in and out, but that was my pattern.

Simplified SEO
I think one of the most appropriate quotes about living came from Henry David Thoreau. He said, “Simplify…Simplify…Simplify!” Since most of what I do concerns SEO on Google, I take the exact same approach to the whole aspect of gaining recognition and prominence on the Internet. I take the most simplistic view of the process that you can imagine, and it works brilliantly every single time.
When I am beginning an SEO campaign, my first process is to visualize what I am wanting to accomplish. I use the term thinking as this is exactly what visualization is. I visualize what I am wanting to accomplish, how I am going to write the keyword content. I do all of this BEFORE I do any actual work at all. Sometimes my visualization comes very quickly. Other times, I have to think for days, or even weeks before I make a final decision. The visualization thinking process sets up needed patterns in my thinking before I actually begin to choose the effective keywords for the campaign.
A very good example of this is my SEO gig for leads. Every article I write is titled leads. This may seem too simple for most people to grasp, but in all actuality, SEO is a very simple approach to placing keyword specific information on the search engines for people to find. I find that people seem to need to extract every small and unimportant detail from anything they do. As you may know, I was in the construction business. Everything that I dealt with was numbers. Inches, feet, yards all had to be closely measured in order to make the weld precise and in the exact location that I wanted it to be. This was a detailed art, but in fact, I was more of a creative nature. I simply wanted to visualize my building project and then put it into motion. I found that if I over analyzed the project, most times it simply did not get done.
We could move right into the area of making sales online. As a matter of fact, closing sales is one aspect of SEO that you must consider. When you have a prospective client on the phone, you must be able to think quickly on your feet. You must know everything about your Google business before you begin to speak with them. You must be able to answer their questions, but more importantly, you must no over analyze the call that you are going to make.
When I speak with a prospective SEO client on the phone, I simply say hello. “You filled out my contact form, and I wanted to speak with you about your objectives.” This direct approach works very well. In the first place, these people are always impressed that I call them quickly after the submission is made. Most of these people will comment on how rapidly I answered their request. I simply tell them that this is the business that I am in. If you understand this approach, it is very important to call these people right away and let them know that you are here to answer their questions. You are not here to SELL them anything at all. You are simply providing benefits and solutions and answering their questions.
Online sales are tricky because you do not have eye contact with the person. You must arrange your thinking when you are writing about your business, as if you were looking across the desk at them. This way, your content will be written as if you were simply talking to them. There is no need to try to sound impressive, wealthy or knowledgeable. All you really have to do to make sales of any type is to just be yourself. Whether you know it or not, you are perfect just as you are. This one aspect seems to give people more grief that any issue I know of.
When you are just going to be you for a change, you will see that phone scripts, analyzing your conversations, planning and preplanning are totally unnecessary. The most important thing that you need to do is to simply pick up the phone, and say “Hello.”
In the art and science of search engine optimization, the process begins with you writing keyword specific stuff. Even if you are not good at it, live content on Google is the absolute king. This leads me to a question. How many articles have you written today to build your online business? Are you writing stuff, or are you planning, analyzing, preparing and really getting nothing done? Only you can answer this question.

If you are seriously wanting to grow your business online you will read and think about what I’m about to share with you. Keywords are K-E-Y to so many things online. Most of all search engine traffic and getting to the right people who are sincerely interested in the product or service that you’re offering. One of the biggest and most common marketing mistakes that people make is to fall in love with a product and assume that everyone else will too. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
Here’s the only rule that you’ll ever need to know about successful sales and marketing… Find out what people want and give it to them.
O.K. Go back and read that again. Let this truth sink deep into the very marrow of your marketing bones. Done? When you get this, everything else is just execution. How do you find out what people are looking for online today? It’s called keyword research, now if you aren’t an expert in keyword research I suggest you find someone who is and either hire them or learn from them. That’s what I did.
THE KEY ISN’T WHAT YOU WANT. IT’S WHAT THEY WANT.
Once you have determined what THEY want you have 2 choices. You go after them or they find you. (I prefer they find me) What’s the greatest free source of these people finding you? Search engines, of course! And what do search engine and people looking for you crave most? Original content. If you’re a content writer, which you absolutely should be, you’re sitting on the golden egg that search engines and your prospects are looking for. Original content.
So, how do you get that content up online in the fastest and easiest way possible? Veretekk RSS feed hooked to a Platinum Control Panel (PCP). The quicker you realize this the faster you will take your business to the next level.
As most of you know I’m very picky when it comes to how a site looks. Now that I have my Veretekk RSS feeds hooked up with a PCP and going out to 20 blogger drones all with different style scripts, and I’m going crazy trying to clean up all of my RSS feeds.
Here’s couple of tips I’ve found that may help you…
There is a difference between an RSS feed that’s going out to many places and a blog that is just in one place. In order to make your RSS feed nice looking (on all the sites) you DO NOT want to have ANY font tags, or weird colors, or even pictures with colors that won’t blend with most colors.
When our RSS feeds were just in a tiny little iframe on the Veretekk traffic portals it wasn’t that big a deal. NOW it is.. at least to me!
I’m slowly making progress (little each day) cleaning up my RSS feeds… it’s going to take some time for me to get to every post I’ve made. Here is what I’ve found that just doesn’t work if you want a nice looking site that readers will want to return too. (in addition to what I mentioned above)
a. Header tags especially the larger ones (I’m removing all header tags) and just using bold tags
b. All youtube videos need to be resized down to: width=”325″ height=”255″ (at the max)
c. Pictures no bigger than 250 by 250 pixels and sized down too (the maximum would be like the videos depending on what you are trying to accomplish)
d. Always begin a RSS post with a paragraph and end it with a paragraph tag
e. No website page code.
f. Any open tags that aren’t closed screws up EVERYTHING!
In summary first find out what people are looking for online, then give it to them using original content in your Veretekk RSS feed using CLEAN code. Yes folks, everywhere they turned they found my blogs and content.
Later that afternoon, my phone rang. “Hi, is this Jeff, my name is Tim, you don’t know me but I’m a Send Out Cards rep.” I thought to myself, here goes, someone trying to pitch me on his SOC business. This time, to my amazement, they weren’t pitching me on their deal; they wanted to know what I was doing writing about SOC. We had a nice conversation, as I continued to explain what I do, and what our organization does. I gave them a web site where I posted a recorded business opportunity presentation.
After spending time listening to the recorded business opportunity presentation, reviewing the web site, and talking it over with his friends, Tim called me back. He and his friend signed up into my business, and became a member of our team. Yes, they both caught the vision. The same vision I have and, I believe, the same vision Tom Prendergast and Mike Darling had when they set out to build Veretekk.

I have a personal story to tell you.
You know I am a Dad and love my children very much. I love to teach as most of you know. We had a great training last Saturday as we covered buying domains, hosting them, setting up a blog and learning FTP.
I was born to be a teacher.
Back to my kids. Many months ago I set up blogs for both Franklin and Taylor. Taylor has been putting her artwork up on her blog. Because of this, a wonderful thing has happened. Let me tell you I am amazed at how God works! Also how powerful the Internet can be. Here goes, are you ready?
Just recently I got Taylor and Franklin new business cards. I had to make Mike and myself new cards too, because of the phone number issue we ran into (That is a long story by itself).
Well, last Friday night I was invited to go out to dinner with a few new friends of mine. Yes I am starting to get out and socializing a bit for the first time in a long time. After dinner we went to a local club and while listening to great music I fortunately opened up a conversation with a lady setting next to me. She is from Greece and happened to be visiting the US for an art show she was doing with a local gallery.
Then she introduced me to her manager and the owner of the La Jolla gallery. We chatted and I discovered she was from Croatia and was very smart about art in general. Did you know that Europeans have a much deeper appreciation for art than Americans? Did you know that Salvadore Dali’s work has appreciated in value far outstripping the price of Gold or the stock market? Artwork is collected by the rich, wealthy and powerful in Europe. I knew this and she was impressed I knew were Croatia was as well (Do you know where it is?).
Of course I bragged on Taylor’s work and I am sure she was thinking she has heard this a million times from parents about their kids. So I gave her (Her name is Biljana) one of Taylor’s business cards with the blog address on it. She called me the next morning and wanted to meet Taylor. So we went to her gallery. They hit it off!
One thing lead to another and the short story is Biljana is arranging for Taylor to meet a very successful international artist that lives in Croatia. His name is Joze Ciuha. He is a very sought after, famous and collected artist. Just the opportunity for Taylor to meet with him and be considered an apprentice position with him is a once in a life time opportunity. So we need to get Taylor to Croatia!
I have put three of Taylor’s works up for auction on Ebay so she can help raise the money to go have this interview with Jose Ciuha. Taylor is going and I will be escorting her the last week of August.

Becoming an Author
For me, the journey towards becoming an author began many years ago. As a boy who was raised on a West Texas farm, I knew the value of money, hard work, taking care of business the right way and obeying the laws. My Dad was a real stickler when it came to law and justice. This is precisely why I am like I am today. I run my business right, pay attention to never telling lies, and anyone that I come into contact with, I demand respect, as this is what I give in return.
I knew from a very early age that I would someday become an author. Its was a given element in my life. I could take and mold words in the way that suited my particular moods. This is obviously a God given talent. I progressed through my education really never having to work at studying, because most things in school hinged on writing to a more or lesser degree. I was able to absorb information very well, as I have a photographic mind. Therfefore, school was just no big deal for me. As a matter of fact, I found it very boring most times. What I did like was the fact that writing was at the core of this entire thing. That was beginning to be my passion.
I studied all the great authors like Henry David Thoreau, Ernest Hemingway and others. I knew that someday I would learn to look at life in that manner, more from an esoteric stance, than a brutal reality stance. I will admit this here and now. I prefer not dealing with the little details of life. It would seem that most are content in worrying about the economy, worrying about making money, worrying about the weather, worrying about their health and in general, expending a great deal of time and energy into the little things in life that really do not matter.
My take on life is very simple and straight forward. I will live my life on my own terms. I will never have anyone telling me what to do with my precious time. I do not believe in being controvesial in any manner, and I will move quickly away from any element that takes that stance.
Now we enter into the world of jobs, raising kids, being happily married and doing everything that I possibly could to raise my wife and family, and provide for them everything that life has to offer. You can imagine what happened at the onset of this. My writing took a backseat as I was simply too weary to write. I decided to make that change from the mundane world of work, and move into the world of the Internet. This was about five years ago that I made that decision. Little did I know that way back on that small West Texas farm, that I would be able to write again.
At first, writing was a bit of a challenge, but the more that I wrote, the more that I found that I could write. The ideas and stories concerning home business were becoming to be something of inspiration, rather than perspiration. I began submitting articles across the net in ezine articles, press releases, blog posts and forums. Little did I know then that I was working on becoming an SEO Master.
The whole art and science of effective search engine optimization is directly related to pursuing a writing career. In essence, I am accomplishing my true calling of being a successful author each and every day. I find that the Internet is a live, work, develop relationships, and in reality, live exactly as you wish to live. We can all live greener and more productive lives simply because we can now stay at home and do exactly what we wish to do, and never have to do something because a boss holds the key to our financial future.
Would I recommend that people learn the art and science of SEO? Absolutely! When you do accomplish this as I have, you will find your horizons ever broadening in the digital world of information.

Prospecting with Post Scripts (P.S.)
What is one of the most powerful freee online marketing techniques? It might be the: P.S. the average person gets so much email these days that they tend to scan instead of read. It’s a proven fact people might not read your email word for word but they generally read the P.S. and here’s how it works: Every day you are corresponding with people by email. In fact, the average person sends 5-10 emails every day to people they know. That’s 5-10 chances to advertise and generate prospects that most people completely forget about every day!
Sharp business marketers will generally always add a P.S. I can personally connect many dollars in revenue and leads to P.S.’s that I’ve added to emails, sent to people via autoresponders, and one-on-one communications. If you get my email’s through the bully pulpit you’ve probably noticed them.
A Post Script is simple, non-threatening and effective!
I’ve found when people read a P.S., they don’t usually feel like they are being “sold to”. Instead, they feel like they’ve discovered something extra, and when people feel like that they are much more likely to respond positivity to what is being presented. Do this consistently and I am confident that you will start producing extra prospects and customers too.

SEO for the little guy and gal
In this article, I am going to pursue an element that is so often overlooked, but should be thought about to a large degree. Over analyzing your work on Google is the worst thing that you can possibly do for your online business. Over the years, I have lectured and trained many people in search engine optimization. By and large, the people that seem to have the most problems in learning the process are the ones that over analyze every small detail in this process.
Search engine optimization, at the core, is a beautifully simple process. You simply choose a high traffic keyword, build a keyword specific website, place information daily, using that keyword string and you have a very successful seo campaign in the works.
Here is the problem. People tend to be very analytical and anal, if you wish, to this approach. Like Tom Prendergast relates very nicely, this story concerning this issue. “If you are in the military, and the enemy is attacking you, are you really going to ask what makes this rifle work? Or, are you just going to point the rifle, and kill the enemy?” Personally, I choose taking the enemy out. This is precisely my approach to SEO as well. I am going to first visualize where I want to go with my presentation on Google. After that, I am going to choose the high traffic keyword, write the articles and everything else that I do.
Honestly, how hard can this process be, folks? But having said that, how many articles did you write today to promote your online business? How many websites did you build today? How many press releases did you write today, to promote your online business? If you are like most people that I talk with, you have just not gotten around to that process yet. I have one more question for you. What have you done today to build your business? If you have done a lot of chatting, or talking, then you probably are falling short of your goals.
You must begin to visualize what you want to accomplish. You must not over analyze this process. If you do, you will simply become just another case of someone who is not being successful in a home business. You will join the ranks of the 95% who are not having success. Do you wish to become a statistic. I know for a fact that I will be in top 5% of people that do make money.

You need to become educated by coming to the training classes, take notes and listen to what these people are telling you. Without this level of commitment, I can guarantee you that you will simply fall into the obscure category of one that is not being successful. We all have the option to choose our own destinies within Veretekk. I trust that you will choose the wiser path.

But we are not completely out of the woods yet. I know when ever we introduce new technology there are going to be some bugs. But one thing you will notice is the lists now load very fast. Even my massive accounts with millions loads in less than 3 seconds.

What are you doing with the dog days of summer?
Every year in the customer side of my business we experience the dog days of summer for a few weeks. This summer I’m using these dog days as an opportunity to really focus on our team SEO campaign. A few years ago I buckled down and did an SEO campaign the hard way and it took about 6 to 8 weeks to hit the top of google for my keywords. Since then I have participated on a few team SEO campaigns what a difference that makes, when everybody is working as a team! I don’t remember exactly how long it took to get noticed in the Search Engines but it didn’t take long.
I have learned when working as a team you must focus on what is best for the team and it’s members first. In the Veretekk Platinum Control Panel you have 2 links that can be configured to what ever links you choose. At first glimpse I thought our team site RSS feed should be one link, but decided on my capture page forwarding to a rotator and our team forum instead.
Let me explain…
I know that people buy from people and they don’t care how much you know till they know how much you care. Hopefully that makes sense to you. Bottom line to really have success online you need to promote yourself not the products or the company your represent. It’s all about you, that’s one reason social networking is working so well that many brick and mortar companies are hiring marketing people just to do social marketing for them.
So here’s what we are doing on my SEO team, when someone decides to optin from my capture page they are directed to a rotator where each team members site is rotated in. This makes a huge benefit for the SEO team member. The SEO team member can take advantage of the years of experience I have online and the brand/image I’ve worked diligently on to create. I and the SEO team member will be working with the newest person getting them going. It’s a win win situation for everyone. Over time each SEO team member will be taught to create their own brand/image online and branch off with a Veretekk Platinum Control Panel for their team.
This is has been my vision, now it’s a plan that’s taken action. How about you? Do you have a vision for your business? One great trait of leadership is having a vision. Have you ever heard the saying “You must stand for something or you’ll fall for everything”. I see this happening lots with online businesses. As a leader, you must first have a strong vision then learn to communicate your vision to the your team.
Here’s how you do that…
Learn to paint a picture with words. Speak it. Write it. Draw it. Touch it. Whatever methods you can use to create a picture. Just do it, as they say. “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
Ask a few of your team members to tell you in their own words about your vision. How close is it to what you thought they understood? Is your team on the same page as you?
As you work, your vision should be on your mind everyday. You should re-evaluate it occasionally so it stays current with the pulse of the Internet. Remember your team must be just as involved as you are with change. How about you does your team communicate daily and/or have weekly web conferences keeping everyone in the loop? Our team does.
